Director: Anne Makepeace
Edward Curtis was born in Minnesota and never had more than a 6th grade education. He taught himself photography, opened a photography business in Seattle and fell in love with the beauty of the Native Tribes of America. Many of the activities that he photographed were outlawed at the time, but he managed to work with the tribes and secretly capture the images. Some were arrested for performing for Curtis and allowing the photographs.
