McKnight Foundation Artist Grants

The McKnight foundation award grants of $25,000.00 each year to 4 photographers to explore, study and reflect on their photography. Details of the grants are contained in the informational notice below. Note that a "Tech session" that will give more details on how to prepare and submit an application for a grant will be held at the Minneapolis Photo Center on February 17th at 6:30 pm.

The camera council has finished judging the Northstar Image competition. The competition involved hundreds of images submitted from all over the world. Below is a sample of some of the fine images submitted:

Learn Lightroom 3

Rikk Flohr has been presenting small group seminars on one of his favorite subjects Lightroom 3. These seminars are offered to groups of 3 or more, can be scheduled at your location of choice and are only $12hr per person. The seminars can be tailored for the novice, intermediate or advanced users, and Rikk also offers special education on what he terms "geeky" Lightroom tricks and techniques. Best of all you can schedule the length of the presentation and/or schedule additional sessions, if desired.

These seminars are prefect for camera club members who want to expand their skills in what is fast becoming the image editor of choice for photographers. Just get three or more members to agree on a date, time and location and contact Rikk at www.fleetingglimpse.com. Tell him the level of Lightroom you wish to discuss and you will be impressed by the knowledge and skill you will get from his presentation.

SPRING BREAK ANNOUNCED

The date, time, location and price for this year's Spring Break has been announced. More information about the class offerings will be provided as we get closer to the event. The price is right and a great value for this event so register early as space is limited. Once the registration limit is reached no further registrations will be accepted.
